Hi, I’m Anastasia- the heart behind Lost Coast Doula!

My passion for supporting women and families began long before becoming a doula. Over the years, I have pursued education and hands-on experience in both healthcare and patient support, always guided by a desire to help people feel safe, informed, and care for during vulnerable moments in life.

In 2015, I completed training in Mental Health First Aid, which helped shape my understanding of compassionate emotional support and crisis awareness. In 2017, I completed EMT training through College of the Redwoods, where I developed foundational medical knowledge and experience in patient-centered care. I used that education to become a Medical Assistant. I later continued my education in women’s healthcare and diagnostic services, completing my limited x-ray technician education through UC San Diego in 2020. Following certification, I spent several years performing bone density screening scans in a women’s health setting, gaining valuable experience supporting patients through preventative and reproductive healthcare environments. Most recently, I completed education in medical billing and coding in September 2025 and February 2026, further expanding my understanding of healthcare systems, patient advocacy, clinical workflow, and continuity of care.

I am currently in the process of completing my DONA doula certification and continue to pursue education that strengthens my ability to provide compassionate, evidence-informed support to clients and families. I also had the privilege of supporting births prior to any doula certification, experiences that reinforced my belief that every person deserves calm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental support throughout their lives.

My long term goal is to expand access to doula care throughout our rural community. I aspire to work with California Medicaid programs and commercial insurance providers to help make doula services more accessible and affordable for families seeking support during pregnancy and postpartum care. I can achieve this with your help!
